Student housing and public facilities

For the restoration of the building complex in Paardenmarkt the main target was to combine private and public uses within the complex.

 

The private uses include student housing, while the public, a library, a café-bar-restaurant and a gym.

 

 

The same architectural approach is present in the restoration of the old buildings and in the addition of the new volumes (restaurant and shading system).

 

The new element should be distinct and recognizable, while the original character of the monument should be maintained as much as possible
